I very rarely get to go to the cinema anymore, at first it was the cost that held me back, but more recently it is the the lack of anyone to go with. I hate going to the cinema on my own, I am not certain why, but I expect it is because going to the cinema is supposed to be a shared experience and I consider everyone else in the room to be an annoyance, so I need to bring someone less annoying with me.

I am married, but unfortunately to someone who thinks that a good film involves... (continued)

If I'm being honest, the characters and over arching story line didn't really grab me in Doctor Strange. Ben Cumberbach is a talented actor and the cast were all just fine. Wong was probably the stand out performance.

The number one thing that sets DS apart from other similar movies in and out of the MCU is the use of powers. So many modern hero movies have very generic powers (super strength, flying, generic energy blasts, etc).

Strange and the other characters here do some really interesting, well thought out things. I especially like the use of time travel. That was great. I heard they had Community and Rick and Morty's Dan Harmon come on to work on the script. I think I see his fingerprints all over that part.

This movie feels like if Harry Potter and The Matrix had a love child with some Inception as well. I think the best actor in the film was the cape. Lol. Seriously, I had a hard time seeing Strange other than Sherlock. That's me unfortunately. Still, pretty good over all. It threw me a few curveballs which is something I like.
