On par with the first one. Fantastic movie filled with action and humor.

A good sequel in that there's a lot more of what's good in the first GOTG. Kurt Russell was a great cast addition. The cast continues to be hilarious.

The central story didn't really do it for me, though. Starlord is more interesting as just some dude who's pretty good at being a Han Solo type, not as reluctant superpowered type, like early Luke Skywalker.

Still, the existence and quality of the GOTG series continues to just wow me.

Visually stunning. This one wows the eyes. Almost feels like 90% of the movie is CGI. Kurt Russell was a nice surprise. I was less impressed but the music in this one. I personally thought that set the first one apart from being just okay. Of course, Little Groot stole the show.

Peter Quill: You look like Mary Poppins.
Yondu: Is he cool?
Peter Quill: Hell yeah, he's cool.
Yondu: I'm Mary Poppins, y'all!

Baby Groot: I am Groot.
Yondu: What's that?
Rocket: He says, "Welcome to the frickin' Guardians of the Galaxy." Only he didn't use "frickin'."

Peter Quill: What is it?
Kraglin: It's called a Zune. It's what everybody's listening to on Earth nowadays.

on a second viewing, I felt some of the humor is just too over the top sometimes....

but, I really liked the character development they gave to both Yondu and Nebula.... I wish we had half votes cause this would be a 4.5... since I don't want to give everything a 5 in Phase 3, this is going to have to lose a star for some of the humor being boring on rewatch...
